John Braga
Senior Paralegal & Case Manager
The Investigator Behind Every Detail
John is a Litigation Paralegal at Edgett Hawk Accident & Injury Law, where he supports personal injury cases from intake through resolution. He assists with discovery, case management, client communication, medical records, settlement documentation, and coordination with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
His careful, investigative approach helps ensure every detail is identified, every deadline is addressed, and every case continues moving forward.
Legal and Investigative Experience Across Two Countries
Before relocating to Texas, John worked in personal injury litigation in Beverly Hills, California, handling both pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Earlier in his career, John practiced law in Brazil, representing clients in criminal, civil, and personal injury matters. He later joined the São Paulo Police Department, where he served for nearly a decade as a State Marshal and Lead Detective, including work with the Homicides Division.
This rare combination of legal and law enforcement experience gives John a practical understanding of how to investigate complex matters, evaluate evidence, and identify the details that can strengthen a client's case.
A Strong Foundation in Law and Legal Education
John earned his LL.M. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He also holds a Master of Laws in Criminal Law, a postgraduate specialization in Criminal Science, and a Bachelor of Laws from Candido Mendes University in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to his legal practice, John has served as a university professor and legal researcher. He taught Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure and contributed legal reviews and articles to numerous law journals.
What He Brings to Every Client's Case
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, John brings disciplined case management, strong analytical judgment, and exceptional attention to detail to every matter he supports. His background allows him to examine cases from both the legal and investigative perspectives while helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the litigation process.
